Installing on VORP
1. The item
Run install/vorp/items.sql against your VORP database.
2. Restart the inventory
restart vorp_inventoryDo not skip this
vorp_inventory reads the items table once at start-up and caches it. Until it restarts it does not know the item exists — and a harvest will complete, print a payout in the server console, and put nothing in your bags. That looks like a bug in the script and is not one.
3. server.cfg
ensure vorp_core
ensure vorp_inventory
ensure rm_crayfishOrder matters only in that rm_crayfish should come after the framework. It probes at runtime rather than at load, so it will bind correctly either way — but keeping the order tidy avoids a confusing first line in the console.
4. Staff
Either of these works. The resource checks both, plus the ace:
/addGroup <your server id> adminadd_ace group.admin rm_crayfish.staff allowRelog after /addGroup
VORP loads your group when your character loads, so the change does not reach a session already in progress.
VORP keeps two separate group columns — users.group, which /addGroup writes, and characters.group, which /addGroupChar writes. The resource checks both, so whichever you used is fine.
Item images
Copy everything from install/items/png/ into:
vorp_inventory/html/img/items/VORP already ships meat, biggame and corn. Overwrite them or skip those three, whichever you prefer; the other nine are the ones it has no icon for.
Restart vorp_inventory afterwards.
Skipping this is only cosmetic — VORP falls back to placeholder.png and every item still works. See Item Icons.
Verifying
/crayfish_fill
/crayfish_warp 13
/crayfishThe last one prints the bed as your client sees it next to what the server holds. They should agree.
If something is wrong
| Symptom | Cause |
|---|---|
Console says Standalone | vorp_core was not started when the resource probed. Put ensure rm_crayfish after it, or pin bridge = { framework = 'vorp' } |
| Harvest works, no crayfish | vorp_inventory not restarted after the SQL — step 2 |
You do not have permission | The console prints the groups you actually hold next to the ones allowed. Usually a missing relog after /addGroup |
| Lure book opens empty | You carry no meat, or your item names differ from config/lures.lua — map them with bridge.itemAliases |
