RedM Pause Menu Player Guide

Share this page with your community, or copy it into your own server guides.

Opening the menu

HowNotes
ESCOpens the camp menu instead of the native pause menu
PThe default keybind — rebindable by each player in RedM Settings → Controls
/campThe chat command, same thing

The menu will not open while you are dead, and there is a short cooldown between opens. While it is up, a cinematic side camera frames your character and they settle into a reading pose, paper in hand — both can be disabled by the server.

Close with ESC again, or the close control in the corner.

The views

Camp — the home board

  • Frontier map tile — click to open the full in-game map.
  • Pulse tile — players online, server uptime, and a countdown to the next restart.
  • Next event tile — the nearest upcoming gathering, with a jump to the calendar and a GPS button.
  • WANTED strip — a carousel of current wanted posters.
  • News strip — the latest dispatches.
  • Ticker — the scrolling message of the day.

Servers can turn individual cards on or off.

The dossier

Your own wanted poster: portrait or a hand-drawn sketch, name, trade, posse, cash, bank or gold, hours ridden, and your server ID. What appears depends on the server's framework and settings.

Bulletin

The notice board: dispatches, laws of the camp, the lawmen roster, updates, gatherings, WANTED posters, the saloon (Discord) and the trading post (store).

Events

The calendar of gatherings, races, auctions, trials and more — plus scheduled server restarts.

  • GPS — events pinned to a spot carry a chart course button. It drops a waypoint and draws a red route from where you stand. Close the menu and ride.
  • Marks — flag the events you care about. Marked events stand out in the list and on the home tile.

Journal

The server's handbook — pages written by staff: guides, lore, rules of the road, with images, quotes and even GPS buttons inside. The tab only appears when the journal has pages.

Preferences

  • Skinworn (leather and parchment), gilded (gold ornate), plain (flat dark).
  • Ink palette — crimson, gold, sage, dusk or ash, or mix a fully custom accent colour.
  • Scale — resize the whole UI, 0.8× to 1.3× by default.
  • Volume — the menu's own sound effects.

Where preferences live

On your own PC, in the game's local key-value store — not on the server. They survive server wipes and character changes, but they will not follow you to a different computer. Your event marks are stored the same way.

Servers can lock individual knobs — palette, custom ink, scale, skin.

Sheriff

Staff only — see the Sheriff Desk guide. If you do not hold a badge, you will never see the tab.

Bottom of the rail

  • Map — closes the menu and opens the full in-game map.
  • Leave — quits to desktop. Two-step confirm, so a stray click will not throw you from the saddle.

Servers can pin extra buttons here too — stables, emotes, handbook links.

Banners and toasts

  • Telegrams — staff broadcasts slide in as banners at the top of your screen, menu open or not.
  • Toasts — small corner notifications, used on standalone servers or when the server routes notifications through the UI.

If something sticks

Stuck in the reading pose after a hiccup?

/fixcamp

It clears the pose and removes the prop, and touches nothing else — clothing and inventory are safe.

Curious about your playtime? /checkhours, where the server allows it.
