Which Framework Am I On?
A framework is the resource that owns players, characters, money, jobs and inventory. Most scripts talk to one, and they are not interchangeable — a VORP script cannot run on RSG Core.
RedMorrow resources support VORP, RSG Core, RedEM:RP and standalone — and RedM Lantern additionally supports QBR. If you are not sure which one your server runs, this page will tell you in about thirty seconds.
Identify it from your resources folder
Look for the core resource. The prefix gives it away immediately:
| If you see… | You are on | Docs |
|---|---|---|
vorp_core, vorp_inventory, vorp_character | VORP | VORP → |
rsg-core, rsg-inventory (hyphens, not underscores) | RSG Core | RSG Core → |
redemrp_* resources — redemrp_identity, redemrp_inventory | RedEM:RP | RedEM:RP → |
| None of the above | Standalone, or no framework yet | Standalone → |
Naming convention shortcut
VORP uses vorp_underscores. RSG uses rsg-hyphens, mirroring QBCore's style. RedEM:RP uses the redemrp_ prefix. Once you know that, you can identify a server's framework from a resource list at a glance.
Identify it from the console
Start the server and read the boot output. Frameworks print a banner or version line as they initialise — searching the console for vorp, rsg or redemrp will find it.
Identify it from your database
Framework tables are equally distinctive. Open your database and look at the table list:
- VORP → tables prefixed
vorp_, pluscharactersandusers - RSG Core →
players, in a QBCore-like layout - RedEM:RP →
usersandcharactersin its own layout
Picking a framework for a new server
Starting fresh and have no framework yet?
VORP is the default recommendation. It has the largest share of the RedM community and the widest third-party script support.
RSG Core is the natural choice if you are coming from FiveM and already know QBCore, since it follows the same structural conventions.
RedEM:RP is well established and stable, but newer scripts increasingly target VORP or RSG first.
Choose before you buy
Switching frameworks later means re-doing character data, jobs, inventory and most of your script library. Decide first, then buy against that decision.
Scripts that support several frameworks
RedMorrow resources generally support more than one core, and either auto-detect it or expose a config option:
Config.Framework = 'vorp' -- 'vorp' | 'rsg' | 'redemrp' | 'standalone'The exact option name and accepted values are in the config.lua you downloaded. If a multi-framework script misbehaves on first boot, setting the framework explicitly rather than relying on auto-detection is the first thing to try — auto-detection looks for known core resources, and a renamed or forked core will defeat it.
