Installing on RedEM:RP

RedEM:RP's inventory is a separate resource from the core, and the builds in circulation differ from one another more than the other frameworks do. This page is written to account for that rather than to assume one of them.

1. Check your schema first

Before running anything:

sql
DESCRIBE `items`;

Column names vary between builds. The common one is name, label, weight, limit, type, usable, which is what install/redemrp/items.sql uses — but if yours differs, edit the statement to match rather than fighting it.

2. The item

Run install/redemrp/items.sql, adjusted if step 1 said so.

3. Restart the inventory

cfg
restart redemrp_inventory

4. server.cfg

cfg
ensure redem_roleplay
ensure redemrp_inventory

ensure rm_crayfish

5. Staff

RedEM:RP keeps a group on the player. Set yours to admin however your build does it, or use the ace, which works regardless:

cfg
add_ace group.admin rm_crayfish.staff allow

The ace is the safer choice here for the same reason as everything else on this page: it does not depend on which build you are running.

What to expect in the console

On start you should see the framework line, then a line about the inventory:

[rm_crayfish] framework: RedEM:RP
[rm_crayfish] RedEM:RP inventory bound (add=AddItem count=GetInventoryItem list=GetInventory remove=RemoveItem room=CanCarryItem)

Read that second line. It names the methods it actually found on your inventory. Because the spelling differs between builds — some ship AddItem, some addItem, some GetItem against getInventoryItem — the adapter probes a list of known names instead of guessing one, and prints what it resolved.

If it cannot find the three it needs, it says so and drops to bare-handed:

[rm_crayfish] RedEM:RP inventory is missing count, add — running bare-handed

That is not a crash

Beds still work, still roll, still cool down — they just stop asking for a lure and stop granting the crayfish. If you see it, your build names those methods something not on the list, and the fix is to add the name to CANDIDATES at the top of server/adapters/redemrp.lua.

Item images

Copy everything from install/items/png/ into wherever your inventory build keeps its item images — find its existing PNGs and drop these beside them.

The path varies by build, which is why there is no single answer here. A missing image shows an empty slot but does not stop the item working. See Item Icons.

Verifying

/crayfish_fill
/crayfish_warp 13
/crayfish

If something is wrong

SymptomCause
Console says Standaloneredem_roleplay was not started when the resource probed. Put ensure rm_crayfish after it, or pin bridge = { framework = 'redemrp' }
running bare-handedYour inventory's method names are not on the candidate list — see above
Harvest works, no crayfishItem row missing, wrong column names, or redemrp_inventory not restarted
Lure book opens emptyYour item names differ from config/lures.lua. Map them with bridge.itemAliases

INFO

RedEM.GetPlayer, GetIdentifier, CitizenId, GetGroup, the client's redemrp:receivePlayerData login signal and the showNotification export were all read from the RedEM:RP source.

The inventory was not — it lives in a resource that was not available to check, which is exactly why the adapter probes for its method names and reports what it found rather than assuming.
