FAQ
What exactly is this?
Twenty-nine custom female pose animations for RedM, delivered as native RDR2 .ycd dictionaries, with an in-game menu, a chat command and exports.
It is free.
Is it an emote script or an asset pack?
Both, and you can use it either way.
It ships a working menu, so you can hand it to players as-is. It also streams the dictionaries like any asset pack, so you can ignore the menu entirely and drive the clips from your own emote system or scripts.
It says "30+" — how many are there?
29. Twenty-nine .ycd files in stream/, twenty-nine entries in clips.lua, twenty-nine rows in the animation list.
Nothing is missing from your download; the listing rounds up.
Do I need a framework?
No. VORP, RSG, RedEM:RP or none — it does not look for one.
Do I need a database?
No. There are no server scripts and no SQL. Player favourites are stored on each player's own machine.
What do I actually need?
Asset packs enabled on your server licence key. The manifest declares dependency '/assetpacks' because the pack streams files, and without the entitlement the resource will not start.
That is the only requirement beyond a RedM server.
Does it work on FiveM?
No. These are RDR2 .ycd animations. They do not exist in GTA V.
How do players use it?
F7 opens the menu, or /rm_female_poses. X stops the pose.
Both keys are configurable, but note that players cannot rebind them in the game's own key settings — RedM has no RegisterKeyMapping, so the keys are set server-side in config.lua.
Can I add them to my emote menu?
Yes. Copy the dict and clip values from the animation list into your emote system's table.
Copy the pairs, do not generate them
Twenty-seven poses follow redmorrow_com@<id> / <id>. Two do not — hatsdown_clip lives in redmorrow_com@pose7 and pose29 lives in redmorrow_com@pose26. Code that builds the name from the id silently fails on those two.
Do I need RedM Emotes?
No. It is one way to give players the poses, but the pack has its own menu and its own exports.
If you do use RedM Emotes, each pose is one database row — see adding them to an emote system.
Can I rename the poses?
Yes. Edit label and category in clips.lua — that is what the menu shows and groups by, and giving them real names is the most worthwhile edit you can make.
Never change dict or clip. Those must match the names stored inside the .ycd file.
Can I rename the .ycd files?
No. An RDR2 dictionary stores its own name inside the file. Renaming it only makes the file name and the dictionary name disagree, and that pose stops working.
Can I rename the resource folder?
No. Exports are namespaced by folder name, so exports['rm_30-custom-female-pose']:Play(...) breaks immediately.
Do the poses work on male characters?
They are built for female models. They will play on a male model, but the proportions were not authored for it and the result usually looks wrong.
Do they work on a horse or in a wagon?
Full-body poses are refused while mounted, and the same guard covers any vehicle, so sitting in a wagon, coach, cart, boat or train refuses them too. Upper-body ones are allowed, because they layer over the riding animation:
/rm_female_poses pose5 walkYou can turn the guard off with Config.BlockOnMount = false — one setting, both cases — though a full-body pose on a horse rarely looks right.
Does it conflict with other animation packs?
Not unless they use the same dictionary names. Everything here is under the redmorrow_com@ prefix.
It can conflict with another emote resource at runtime, though — starting an animation clears the character's tasks, so two scripts posing the same character will cancel each other. Stop one before starting the other.
How heavy is it?
There are no server scripts and no database queries, so it cannot cause server-side lag. All streaming is client-side.
The first play of any pose streams its dictionary, which can stutter once. Every play after that is instant.
Will it work with photo mode?
The poses can be held while in photo mode if your script or emote system triggers them. The pack does not add photo-mode features of its own.
hold mode is the one you want for stills — it freezes on the final frame rather than looping.
Do not bind the menu to F6
0x75 is photo mode. config.lua flags it in its own comments for that reason.
What can I edit?
config.lua and clips.lua stay readable after escrow. The .ycd files, client.lua and the menu's HTML are protected.
So: every label, category, key, colour and playback default is yours. The animation data is not extractable.
Can I redistribute it?
No. It is free to download, not free to republish. Licensed for use on servers you operate; the .ycd files may not be shared with non-purchasers or reused in another pack.
Are updates free?
Yes, from your downloads page. The changelog records a planned v2.0.0 with more poses and improved timings, with no date attached.
Where do I get help?
Troubleshooting first, then the RedMorrow Discord. Bring your server console output and whether DoesAnimDictExist('redmorrow_com@pose5') returns true.
