Every pose ships as loop. See the three modes for when to use hold instead.
The two exceptions
Twenty-seven poses follow the obvious pattern — id pose5 is dict redmorrow_com@pose5, clip pose5. These two do not:
| Pose | Dictionary | Clip |
|---|---|---|
hatsdown_clip | redmorrow_com@pose7 | hatsdown_clip |
pose29 | redmorrow_com@pose26 | pose29 |
Do not build the dictionary name from the id
This works for twenty-seven poses and silently fails on two:
-- WRONG
local dict = 'redmorrow_com@' .. idRead the pair out of clips.lua, or use the export, which does the lookup for you:
exports['rm_30-custom-female-pose']:Play('pose29')Durations are reference values
The duration column is what clips.lua records, and it is there to help you pick a pose — not something the resource enforces. Every pose is played with a duration of -1, meaning the clip's own length, and the mode decides what happens at the end.
A few of the recorded figures are clearly nominal rather than measured — five poses are listed at 89 seconds and one at 0.1 — so treat the column as a rough grouping rather than a stopwatch.

Stream files
One .ycd per dictionary, named for the dictionary it contains:

stream/[email protected]
stream/[email protected] <- holds hatsdown_clip
stream/[email protected] <- holds pose29
stream/[email protected]
...Never rename one
An RDR2 dictionary stores its own name inside the file. Renaming the file does not rename the dictionary — it only makes the two disagree, and that dictionary becomes unreachable while the rest keep working. That is the usual cause of "some poses work and one does not".
Renaming poses for your server
label and category in clips.lua are yours to change — they are what the menu displays and groups by.
{ id = 'pose5', label = 'Leaning on the rail', dict = 'redmorrow_com@pose5',
clip = 'pose5', category = 'Saloon', duration = 1.967, mode = 'loop', rootMotion = false },Never change dict or clip. Those have to match the names stored inside the .ycd, and a wrong value means the pose simply never plays. See Configuration.
